- London Coliseum
The English National Opera revives its production of Philip Glass's opera Satyagraha signed director Phelim McDermott. Distinguished British tenor Toby Spence is to be seen in the leading role and Glass-specialist Karen Kamensek will be conducting.
Satyagraha is a musical meditation over Gandhi's early year's in South Africa, and it traces how his concept of non-violent protests as a force of change progressed.
With Philip Glass's minimalistic music and ways of creating a mesmerising landscape of sound, this touching piece is something different and unlike the traditional operas.
